BEYOND DEBATE:
RIGHTS OF HOMELESS STUDENTS
A 15 minute film produced by the Public Justice Center and Megaphone Project, “Beyond Debate: Rights of Homeless Students" is a moving story of a senior debate team student whose family is evicted and becomes homeless, how her teammate and coach found out about a homeless student's right to continued education, and her struggle to get back to her school and the final debate. The film provides point-by-point instruction to homeless families on how to keep their children in school, and will be of interest to families at risk of homelessness, and organizations providing education or social services.
